This award is given to a project or initiative that has engaged new audiences with heritage, and attracted them to your museum or heritage organisation. The audience does not have to be big on numbers, but your initiative must have long term aims to retain the audience.
For example, this might include; a community project, exhibition, partnership project, or a volunteering imitative that encourages new and different volunteers.
The award will recognise innovative approaches to broadening the appeal of heritage and widening access for all.
The activity must be a new area of work for your organisation, and have started after 1 January 2017.
Separate Audience Initiative Awards will be made to both larger and small organisations.
