Partnership Marketing
Partnership working is at the heart of Cornwall Museums Partnership.
Over the years museums have worked together on projects designed to improve long term sustainability and resilience.
Collaborative marketing programmes, fundraising mentoring, training and product development are just some of the projects museums have worked on together, demonstrating that partnering helps small budgets punch above their weight.
National Maritime Museum Cornwall and Falmouth Art Gallery in Falmouth, Penlee House Gallery and Museum in Penzance, Royal Cornwall Museum in Truro, Wheal Martyn in St Austell and Telegraph Museum Porthcurno have worked in partnership on several successful marketing projects all aimed at increasing visitor numbers from locals and visitors to Cornwall.
Projects include ;
- visitor research and analysis
- promotion to the tourism market, inc familiarisation trips and working with Visit Cornwall
- regular direct e-marketing
- local and national press work
- sharing experiences, ideas and networks
For 2015 the partners have created a collection of days out which have been presented to potential visitors in a mini guide. This is predominantly being used in museums to encourage visitors to visit another museum.
The guide includes an impressive map of all museums in Cornwall which is being used by the Cultural Tourism campaign Cornwall365 to promote to a much wider market.
You can view the mini guide here.
