How to Run a Social Media Takeover

The Cornwall Museums Partnership Marketing Intern, Natalie, has written this guide for social media managers at small museums and organisations on the ins and outs of conducting a social media takeover. This information is based on the training and insights Natalie has gained from running the CMP social media channels including conducting three takeovers since December and will be regularly updated over the course of her internship as she learns more!

This resource offers a comprehensive overview of the social media takeover and the key steps involved including different methods, establishing aims, choosing a theme and guest host, determining platform or format, execution and monitoring success.
