Cornwall Museums Partnership, K2 Funding and Tate St Ives are excited to announce the launch of a new programme, which has been created with the help of the Heritage Lottery Fund, especially to support heritage organisations across Cornwall successfully deliver building and construction projects.
Firm Foundations is a dynamic four-day programme, which has been designed to build confidence and offering valuable training for those who are about to embark on their first capital project.
Each day has been tailored to cover a host of topics from range from understanding project costs and procurement, to construction contracts and getting the most out of your architect. Professional experts will share their insights and experience of working on previous capital projects involving heritage buildings and offer key advice that can be applied to your own project, as well as providing an insight into the industry and how it works. In addition to this, there is the opportunity to form a valuable network of support.
Taking place at Porthmeor Studios, St Ives on 11th May, 15th June and 28th September, and at Krowji, Redruth on 16th June, the course includes over 16 sessions hosted by professional experts.
Firm Foundations is offering delegates the opportunity to learn from respected professionals; share ideas and the opportunity to discuss concerns in a supportive, confidential environment. Peer support will be available from experts and peers, to help build the confidence of those attending and continue the knowledge sharing outside of the sessions.
Thanks to HLF support, delegate places are available for £200 per person. This includes four days training with lunch and refreshments provided, and an evening dinner with special guest speaker on 15th June.
The programme is also delighted to be able to offer two bursaries to enable volunteer-led organisations to take part. For more information or to apply for a place please click here. Alternatively, you can email email@example.com or call Cornwall Museums Partnership on 01209 500 750.
