Applications are invited for a three days (18 hours) per week Library Assistant role to join the Morrab Library team. The role will include regular Saturday working.
The role of Library Assistant is to assist in the daily management of processes that contribute to and are necessary for excellent library organisation and to help train the volunteers to ensure consistency in the application of these processes.
The post-holder will also be expected to use their creativity in contributing to marketing and promotions plans to increase membership, widen the age-profile and advertise events though a variety of means. This will involve contributing to changing website content and use of social media as well as designing literature to advertise resources and events.
The Morrab Library is an independent subscription library, located in the heart of Penzance. Founded in 1818, the library houses more than 70,000 books, and extensive archive, newspaper and historic photographic collections. The library is particularly known for its extensive Cornish collection, and hosts a regular schedule of talks, classes and workshops on a variety of topics.
