The National Maritime Museum Cornwall, with the generous support of The Fairwind Trust, is offering an exciting opportunity for a ten week paid work placement for a Heritage Learning Assistant, from 3 July 2017 – 8 September 2017.
Working closely with the Museum’s award-winning Learning team, you will gain invaluable experience, knowledge and transferable skills. The successful candidate will be an undergraduate, postgraduate or a young person at the start of their career who is interested in working with formal and informal learning audiences in the arts and heritage sector. You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, good interpersonal skills, be creative and practical, with a ‘can-do’ attitude. You will have initiative and the ability to work independently but you will also be able to work as part of a team. A flexible approach to hours as there will be a requirement to work weekends, bank holidays and the occasional evening. The hourly rate for this position will be £7.05 per hour, or the National Living Wage £7.50 if applicable.
