The Beyond Digitisation Project
Beyond Digitisation is a partnership project (including CMP, Purpose 3D, Bodmin Keep – Cornwall’s Army Museum, Royal Cornwall Museum, and Penlee House Museum Gallery).
This project will produce 3D models of collections held at the three participating museums, and subsequently make these available for commercial markets via Purpose 3D, who sell 3D models onto the gaming and fashion industries, among others. Museums will receive a commission each time a model is sold, supporting their long-term sustainability. This is a small scale project designed to provide evidence of the demand for these products, and increase knowledge of the participating museums’ of 3D modelling and its uses for their programming.
