Bodmin Keep is operated by a small independent charity, Cornwall’s Regimental Museum CIO. The charity is governed by a board of trustees and is run by a small professional staff supported by many volunteers.
The museum is Accredited with Arts Council England and is a member of Cornwall Museums Partnership National Portfolio Organisation (NPO) which recognises and supports the quality and ambition of its work.
In the past 6 years, the museum has made huge strides, building audiences and is now a highly respected and vibrant centre for learning and enjoyment of Cornwall’s military heritage. It offers a lively and diverse programme of events and activities throughout the year and has strong community connections. It is committed to inclusion and diversity and aims to engage with the broadest
possible audience, defying preconceptions of a traditional military museum.Via the NPO programme, it offers apprenticeships in customer service and trainee curator internships, giving young people the opportunity to enter the museum sector.
The trustees are now seeking a new Director to build on our successes of the past 6 years. They are looking for an exceptional person with the skills and experience to take forward the museum’s capital development, to maximise earned income, grow audiences, increase community support and strengthen sustainability.
To succeed you will bring experience of business and financial acumen, strong leadership skills, determination and tact.
