Purpose + Values

Let's go

Our values drive the way we work. They describe how we will make our vision real

Collaboration Innovation Inclusion Integrity

We believe that collaboration provides fertile ground for the flourishing of inventive and resourceful practice. We listen and form genuine partnerships which are built on mutual understanding and respect.

We seek new solutions and think differently. We pioneer new ways of doing things and set high standards in everything we do; we are not afraid to try radical approaches.

We respect and value multiple perspectives. We are committed to creating and maintaining an environment that respects diverse traditions, heritages, and experiences and is inclusive for everyone.

We act with professionalism, transparency, and honesty. We are trusted partners.

Our commitment to equity

Our work supports museums to make a positive difference to peoples’ lives. CMP exists to invigorate museums and help them to address the structures and practices which have excluded people for too long. By working in partnership with museums to help them become more open and connected to the people they serve, we aim to inspire the wider heritage and cultural sectors.

“These goals have the power to create a better world by 2030, by ending poverty, fighting inequality and addressing the urgency of climate change. Guided by the goals, it is now up to all of us, governments, businesses, civil society and the general public to work together to build a better future for everyone.”

Our Board

Our Board of Directors provide help, guidance, and advice on all aspects of our work in accordance with the Charity Governance Code.

Meet the team

The CMP team is made up of 10.2 FTEs. We support museums to do the things that they might find difficult to do on their own. This includes advocacy, audience development, fundraising, and workforce development.
