The Firm Foundations Course
Developed by CMP in 2018, Firm Foundations is a course run over 4 days between January and March 2022 to help prepare delegates for capital building projects in the heritage sector. It is designed to build confidence, knowledge, skills and networks and thereby ‘de-risk’ capital projects run by museums and other heritage organisations.
The course has run successfully in Cornwall for the last 3 years. We are now seeking to deliver it online, making it accessible to more people from across the UK. Please see our website for more information about the course.
We are looking for suitably experienced contractor/s to help us adapt and develop our Firm Foundations training programme for an online environment.
Consultant Brief
You will:
- Liaise with speakers and the CMP team to confirm the course programme and content ensuring the best engaging learning experience for delegates.
- Brief speakers to ensure quality and consistency of sessions.
- Take a data driven approach, reviewing previous course evaluation to design the best possible schedule (NB most course content is in place, the contractor will need to design the most effective schedule).
- Design and develop online learning materials, including some pre-recorded sessions and other resources for delegates.
- Design the programme overall to maximise effective and enjoyable learning for participants bringing best practice in online learning and event delivery to the project.
- Adapt the speaker packs and all delegate materials for the online environment – creating text and other content.
- Produce web content (learning resources and course information) for the new CMP website in liaison with course speakers.
- Identify learning outcomes for the participants and work with the Data and Insight Manager to identify materials to evaluate learning and the participant experience.
- Ensure the course is developed to the highest standards of inclusivity, demonstrating CMP’s commitment to equity and diversity.
- Brief the course facilitator and administrator to ensure everything is in place to manage all course delivery effectively.
- Provide technical support during the 4 day course on 21st January, 28th January, 14th February and 11th March 2022.
We are looking for someone who:
- Understands learning in the online environment
- Uses innovative and inclusive practices to ensure learning is effective and engaging
- Has experience of coordinating and delivering training programmes
- Is an excellent communicator
Budget
CMP has a budget of £6,000 including VAT and all expenses for this work. We welcome applications from individuals or companies.
Timescale
The project will commence in June 2021, with the bulk of the course content needing to be confirmed by the end of July and publicity and booking from mid-August onwards.
